Chili Cook-Off Competition

21st February 2016 @ 3:00 pm

€8

This is a gloves-off, no-holds barred, knock ‘em down chili cook-off. You fall on the “ja” side of the heated chili with beans philosophical schism? This ain’t no ICS* rule-stickling event. Put ‘em in! You think carrots or red beet are the secret ingredient that will clinch you the 2016 Amnesty International Chilipalloza title? Then pile ‘em on, we won’t laugh.

*International Chili Society

But just don’t try to substitute tofu for meat and not expect our judges to notice. They will. They probably will not mark you down, but they will notice.
A more finicky, uncompromising, hard-nose panel of chili fans you’ll not find this side of Munich. They’ll be testing your prized dish for aroma, color, consistency, taste and aftertaste, and scoring it from a possible maximum of 50 points.

First prize, apart the winner’s trophy, is a Keg Party at The Keg (valued at €98). Prizes will also be awarded for second and third place, as well as for the public vote. Your pre-cooked chili can be entered between 15:00-16:00 at The Keg, Schwabing (details for date & venue see below).

Entry is free for those who take the time, effort and ingredients to make a chili. General public is €8. There will be beers, cheers, music from The Roller CoStars and the warm, glowing feeling that comes from a good chili and having done something positive for humanity for the day. All proceeds go to Amnesty International and its ongoing work to protect human rights.
